Heart of Gold - The Songs of Neil Young: Into the Black (Vol. 3) Various

Neil Young's enormous musical legacy is celebrated once again on Into the Black (Vol. 3), the third volume in the tribute series Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young. The album collects 12 reinterpretations of songs from the legendary Canadian songwriter and features an impressive selection of artists from the modern indie, folk, and rock scene.

On the album, artists including Modest Mouse, MJ Lenderman, Kurt Vile, Ben Gibbard, King Princess, and Devendra Banhart offer their personal takes on some of Neil Young's most beloved compositions. King Princess interprets the timeless classic "Helpless", while Modest Mouse, together with Califone, takes on "Barstool Blues". MJ Lenderman tackles "Separate Ways", and Kurt Vile & The Violators breathe new life into "When Your Lonely Heart Breaks". The collection also includes interpretations of "Harvest Moon", "Tonight's the Night", and "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)", among others.

The release is part of a larger charity project, where proceeds go to The Bridge School, which Neil Young and his then-wife Pegi Young founded in 1986. The organization works to improve communication and educational opportunities for people with extensive physical disabilities and communication challenges.
