Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS have been on the rise in the United Kingdom in recent years. Female commercial sex workers are at a higher risk for STIs due to their high number of sexual partners. It has been shown that regular screening along with appropriate treatment can reduce the transmission of certain STIs as well as seroconversion of HIV in sex workers.
