Can I be Christian + Feminist? If you find it even the slightest bit unbelievable that Christian women are supposed to submit their power, then this book is for you!Tara Hannah's church taught her that God created women emotionally weaker than men, which "rightfully" places them in subservient roles to men. When Tara searched the scriptures for herself, she discovered her freedom and her God given power. In Pink Sunglasses + Yoga Pants, Tara uses both scripture and candid, personal stories to encourage all women (and yes, men) to walk with her through the thorny valley of questioning. The thirty-one reflections pull a feminist concept from Scripture, upholding the Bible as an authority while understanding that the Bible is a collection of poetry, letters, history, and traditions written by men. Tara guides readers beyond the invisible religious walls of sexism to recognize that only by joining forces as equals will men and women succeed in doing the important work of the church.
